Our opening bulk-billing promotion for the Bentleigh East clinic is coming to a close. Due to the increased compliance and administration involved with COVID-19, and the importance of maintaining our level of service to the community we will be charging a gap starting 1st September 2020.

1. All consultations with our doctors are now also available via phone or video appointment if you prefer to stay at home. (It is still the same great local GP’s providing healthcare it is just via your phone or computer). We are here at the clinic in person and happy to support our patients in person.  We will be happy to see you, just make sure you observe the distancing practices followed in the clinic.

2. All patients with any respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever, cold or flu like symptoms) need to call the clinic and discuss your symptoms before making a face to face appointment. This is to protect our doctors, support team and for the safety of all of our other patients.

3. To promote social distancing we are offering free (no contact) delivery of pharmacy items and prescriptions to any patients within 10km of clinic. (message us for more information or ask your GP during your consultation)

General Practitioners

Dr. Gela Totonchi

With over 10 years of experience as a General Practitioner, Gela has worked in some of the most underprivileged areas of Iran while receiving her primary medical degree. After moving to Australia she received her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Working as a full-time GP in both Queensland and Victoria, she simultaneously pursued her training in Women’s health as her main area of interest. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice and welcomes all patients with her open heart and professional experience.
Gela is fluent in English and Farsi/Persian.

Areas of Interest are: Children’s Health, Travel Medicine, Mental Health, Women’s Health such as Contraception, Pregnancy Choices, Preconception, Antenatal and postnatal care (including shared care), Menopause and Sexual Health (including STI screening and PrEP).

Dr. Roy Othman

Dr Othman is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

He undertook his undergraduate medical training at University of Otago, New Zealand. The experience and knowledge he gained in various disciplines of medicine whist working at the hospital has given him an advantage in General Practice.

He is enjoying every aspect of traditional General Practice with special interest in skin cancer checks, preventative health, chronic care management, Men’s health, performing minor skin lesion excisions and iron infusions. He holds a certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine.

He has experience in the medical student teaching program with the University of Melbourne previously, supervising and teaching undergraduate medical students at the clinic as well as supervising doctors who were training to specialise in General Practice (GP trainee registrars) in the past.

He enjoys spending time with his young and active family. He is an avid tennis player, loves travelling and plays guitar leisurely. Dr Othman also speaks Malay/Bahasa Indonesia.

Dr Max Bahrami

Max has worked more than 15 years as a General Practitioner in Australia and Iran in every area of general practice focusing on skin diseases and skincare, weight management, sexual health and child health.

He has Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in addition to his Doctorate Degree in Medicine from Iran.

His areas of interest are chronic disease management, preventive medicine and health assessment, men, women and sexual health, skin diseases and consultations regarding weight management.

He is interested to play table tennis and enjoys reading about history, cultures and languages.

Namarata Malhotra – Practice Manager

As a Practice Manager at Umbrella Health, I am the go-to person behind the scenes but often assists in all aspects of the clinic.

I passionately believe and connect with the company’s mission to go beyond an average medical centre to provide the highest quality of patient care in a compassionate environment that upholds the core values and provides exceptional patient service.

I am dedicated to all needs of the patient who walks into our clinic with the hope of excellent care and assist in collaborating with Health Professionals to achieve the same. I like reading fiction and inspirational books. My favourite book at all times has been Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I am also compassionate about women’s empowerment, health and well being.

Molly Craig – Care Concierge

Molly has had a passion for working in the Medical Industry since 2014. Molly enjoys the challenges of a busy Medical Centre on a daily basis and also creating an enjoyable atmosphere to both work and visit as a patient.

Originally from the country, Molly enjoys spending quality time with her family, regularly involved in the gym, watching all sports and socialising with her friends.

Josie Forrest – Care Concierge

Josie’s role is to look after the patients at Umbrella Health. She is an experienced medical receptionist and has always cared about the patients she meets. This care has always been a priority for her, so she is delighted about it being stated in her job title as Care Concierge!

Josie has had a varied career; dabbling in retail, hospitality and media. She began pursuing an interest in health due to an ill family member. This motivated her to complete a Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance and attempt a Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology in Albury, NSW.

The time spent studying was not wasted though, as Josie has been able to apply her medical knowledge towards her work in both GP and specialist clinics.

In her downtime, you can find Josie spending quality time with her loved ones, curled up reading speculative fiction, attending the occasional gym class and in winter, out on the slopes skiing.

Sophie Sallur – Medical Receptionist 

Sophie has recently moved from the Perth Hills in WA after working as a medical receptionist in a mental health setting since 2017. She is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for patients and providing high quality care and assistance to clients and colleagues alike.

Sophie’s interests include travel, practising foreign languages such as German and French, and watching her favourite AFL team, the Fremantle Dockers.

Chelsie Sinkins – Practice Nurse

Chelsie is a practice nurse who has a passion for preventative care in the community.

She has previously worked as a mental health nurse. During her degree she worked as a medical receptionist which founded her passion for working in a community and providing high standards of care. She continues to seek further education for herself in order to continue providing better outcomes for patient care.

Originally from the UK, Chelsie enjoys spending quality time with her family and rescue cat, hiking, travelling and tending to her veggie patch.
