1. All consultations with our doctors are now also available via phone or video appointment if you prefer to stay at home. (It is still the same great local GP’s providing healthcare it is just via your phone or computer). We are here at the clinic in person and happy to support our patients in person.  We will be happy to see you, just make sure you observe the distancing practices followed in the clinic

2. All patients with any respiratory symptoms(cough, shortness of breath, fever, cold or flu like symptoms) need to call the clinic and discuss your symptoms before making a face to face appointment. This is to protect our doctors, support team and for the safety of all of our other patients.

3. To promote social distancing we are offering free (no contact) delivery of pharmacy items and prescriptions to any patients within 10km of clinic. (message us for more information or ask your GP during your consultation)

Umbrella Health is a private billing service with fees payable at the time of consultation. This includes Work Cover and TAC consultations as we do not invoice third parties directly.

  • Up-to-date concession cards and a Medicare card must be presented at every appointment.
  • Payment is required at the time of the consultation.
  • For your convenience we accept cash, eftpos or credit card. Personal cheques are not accepted.

General Practitioners

Dr Andrew Magennis

Dr Magennis gained his medical degree from Monash University in Melbourne in 1981. After graduating he chose to enter a training program to specifically become a General Practitioner. He has trained in Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, General Medicine, Surgery and Geriatrics. He gained further knowledge and experience assisting a plastic surgeon one day a week for over a decade.

Dr Magennis has worked in General Practice for over 35 years. His manner is gentle and friendly, and he very much enjoys working with his patients to have them fully understand any medical conditions they may present with. He is vocationally registered and regularly attends medical conferences and workshops to keep up to date.

Special Interests:

  • Diabetes (any type).
  • Hay Fever, Eczema and Asthma.
  • Depression, Anxiety and talking through difficult Psycho-social issues.
  • Immunisations for Preventive Health (Children & Adults) & Travel
  • Treating patients as a ‘whole person’ and not just a ‘disease’ walking through a door.
  • Doing minor Surgical Procedures.

Dr Magennis is happy to refer his patients to Specialist Colleagues for further advice if needed or requested.

Dr Eva Hafidz

Dr Eva has been practising as a doctor since year 2001. She is a fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). She initially obtained her medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Otago, New Zealand. After graduating, she worked at various hospitals. During that time she also underwent vocational training with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine which gave her a good experience in managing chronic conditions.

She enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She has special interest in women’s & children’s health, mental health, preventative medicine & screening such as pap smears and chronic care management (eg diabetes, heart disease, cancer, asthma,etc). She has experience managing patients at aged care facility for several years. Apart from that, she relates well to young patients (youth) and teenagers. She also manages sexual health matters and does STI screening.

Dr Eva was a medical educator and supervisor for medical students from the prestigious University of Melbourne. Outside of work, Dr Eva enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children, travelling, playing piano and gardening.

Dr Nick Tooraj Taheri

Dr Nick graduated from Medical School in Iran in 1992 after which he started working as a GP for 12 years. Then he underwent training in Neurology for 4 years.

He migrated to Australia in 2014 and began his medical career in Australia in 2017 and managed to get Fellowship from Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019 after working as a GP in QLD for 3 years.

Dr Nick is passionate about all areas of general medicine including:

  • Neurological cases including headache, seizure, vertigo, dizziness, imbalance, numbness and weakness, Parkinson Disease, Tremor, Dementia and memory disturbance.
  • Mental health
  • Men’s health
  • Chronic disease management such as Diabetes, High blood pressure, Asthma, COPD
  • Skin cancer, minor operations and procedures

Namarata Malhotra – Practice Manager

As a Practice Manager at Umbrella Health, I am the go-to person behind the scenes but often assists in all aspects of the clinic.

I passionately believe and connect with the company’s mission to go beyond an average medical centre to provide the highest quality of patient care in a compassionate environment that upholds the core values and provides exceptional patient service.

I am dedicated to all needs of the patient who walks into our clinic with the hope of excellent care and assist in collaborating with Health Professionals to achieve the same. I like reading fiction and inspirational books. My favourite book at all times has been Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I am also compassionate about women’s empowerment, health and well being.

Josie Forrest – Care Concierge

Josie’s role is to look after the patients at Umbrella Health. She is an experienced medical receptionist and has always cared about the patients she meets. This care has always been a priority for her, so she is delighted about it being stated in her job title as Care Concierge!

Josie has had a varied career; dabbling in retail, hospitality and media. She began pursuing an interest in health due to an ill family member. This motivated her to complete a Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance and attempt a Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology in Albury, NSW.

The time spent studying was not wasted though, as Josie has been able to apply her medical knowledge towards her work in both GP and specialist clinics.

In her downtime, you can find Josie spending quality time with her loved ones, curled up reading speculative fiction, attending the occasional gym class and in winter, out on the slopes skiing.

Sophie Sallur – Care Concierge

Sophie has recently moved from the Perth Hills in WA after working as a medical receptionist in a mental health setting since 2017. She is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for patients and providing high quality care and assistance to clients and colleagues alike.

Sophie’s interests include travel, practising foreign languages such as German and French, and watching her favourite AFL team, the Fremantle Dockers.

Yanan has two years of Nurse experience in GP medical centres. She seeks useful resources to boost her knowledge in order to bring out better outcomes for all patients.  Her nursing career has been dedicated to creating high quality, reliable system of care in addition to developing comprehensive teamwork with other medical staff

Chelsie is a practice nurse who has a passion for preventative care in the community.

She has previously worked as a mental health nurse. During her degree she worked as a medical receptionist which founded her passion for working in a community and providing high standards of care. She continues to seek further education for herself in order to continue providing better outcomes for patient care.

Originally from the UK, Chelsie enjoys spending quality time with her family and rescue cat, hiking, travelling and tending to her veggie patch.
